YOUTUBE QUESTION, PLEASE HELP?

I don't have any explaination for people who uploaded their video and would do almost anything to get more hits (views). Do they get paid if they get alot of views? who pays them? Just curious, I know people want to share stuffs, but there should be other incentive, monetary incentive. Thank you.
