Why am i having random freezes on my pc?

So i had a little hiccup on my 2nd internal hard drive a couple of months ago, it started erasing everything and it gives an error when i tried to open the hard drive, after a couple of days of that bullshit, my 2nd hard drive totally disappeared from my 'my computer', and soon after that, my pc has been getting the random freezes when im watching videos, browsing the webs and worst of all when i game.I've read up and it says that random freezes are usually caused by malfunction of hard drives, so im thinking that its because of that. Is there anyway i can make my 2nd hard drive 'reappear on my, my computer' again? or what can i do to stop the freezing?
