My Birth Control Is Failing To Do Its Job?

I've been taking birth control for 3 months now & i still have crazy symptoms. Now i didnt start taking them until after i had for my 1st time & it was unprotected, but i took plan b the next day. The REAL reason i started them though was because my period is very irregular, i have anemia, & i bleed like crazy. So its suppose to help it come on time when its suppose to, slow down the bleeding, and help my CHRONIC PAIN CRAMPS. So far, it hasnt done anything for me. My period is still off, still super heavy, & i still have very bad cramps. I have prescription strength ibuprofen & those dont even help. Not only that but its side effects are driving me wild, they are just like pregnancy symptoms, & i was actually looking at my stomach today because it seems to have a roundness to it. WHICH IT NEVER HAD. My stomach has always been flat. I cant see my gynecologist until september, so what should i do until then???? HELP!!!
