I would have the vet come out anyway. My gelding did the same thing by showing improvement, and I made the biggest mistake by riding him. He went down lame and I couldn't ride him for a year. You could also call the farrier and have him check his feet as well, but only after you have the vet look him over. Don't risk your horse's health like I did, it got very expensive and I still feel the guilt!
